Attention Stance -- Cha ryut!

Cha ryut! or Attention!  This particular stance is taken when an instructor brings class to order.  Your feet should be together, fists at your side, and displaying good posture.

 

 

 

Kyungnae

Bow -- Kyung nae

This stance is taken when you wish to show respect.  Respect can be shown to people, higher ranks, older individuals, and also to training areas and country flags.  Most martial artists bow when entering their training area.

 

 

Joonbi

Ready Stance -- Joonbi

Joon bi or ready position.  This stance is taken to display your readiness.  It’s commonly used before students begin poomse (forms or patterns).  The instructor calls the students to attention, then requests a bow, then they take their ready position (joon bi).
