Prepare for Competition in 7 days

I can physically prepare anybody who is already athletic for any competition.  Where I will have difficulty is the mental aspect of the training.  Raw speed and endurance is fantastic, but it's nothing against an opponent who is seasoned at reading every single body movement.  Have you ever sparred your instructor and he or she seemed to counter every one of your techniques as if you were moving in slow motion? 

This is the mental aspect of the training that they are seasoned at.  It's their ability to recognize certain body movements that allow them to counter attack at the appropriate time with the appropriate technique.  This is the difference between an average competitor and a champion.

Typically, I train Taekwondo athletes for a specific competition 8 weeks in advance.  Of course, we are always training, but once the 8 week mark hits, we become highly focused with intense training. 

Now, I am going to attempt to train 4 athletes in just 1 week!

Why?  Well, because we were going to go to this tournament, but then decided what the heck, at the last minute.  The tournament is the UC Open in Berkley, California.  It's a highly competitive tournament with competitors coming from the entire west coast trying to get polished up before the Junior Olympics and Nationals.  

My competitors are:

A 48 year old red belt, a 17 year old Black Belt, and two 15 year old green belts.  All 4 athletes are in amazing shape and have experience in competition.
